Mindi Abair "It Just Happens That Way" Smooth Jazz CD Review

Richly talented Smooth Jazz artist Mindi Abair has released her CD entitled It Just Happens That Way and Wow! It's really a good one.

It Just Happens That Way launches with a great track, Lucy's that I anticipate will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It really is a very nice track.

This entire CD has a nicely varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very nicely constructed songs by this clearly superb artist.

Listen to this CD and I believe you'll find there's not much to dis-like about it. The songs are inspired, the production is simply outstanding, and Mindi Abair's Sax work is superb. If you're even mildly into Smooth Jazz music you'll enjoy this album.

While this entire album is outstanding the truly standout tracks are Flirt [track 2], Save The Last Dance [track 3], Right On [track 6].

Review of the Weather Report CD Mysterious Traveller

The exceptionally talented Jazz group Weather Report have released their CD entitled Mysterious Traveller. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Weather Report fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Mysterious Traveller their artistic excellence is on full display as they have once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be their best work to date.

I wish it weren't the case but, it's not everyday that I get a CD for review that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can't force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Mysterious Traveller. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

The nice thing about a CD like this is with this level of talent even if Jazz isn't your favorite style you still can't help but appreciate the greatness of the musicians.

Overall Mysterious Traveller is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Jazz collection. Truly an outstanding Jazz CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.

While this entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 2 - American Tango, track 5 - Blackthorn Rose, and track 7 - Jungle Book

Grady Nichols has been a super star in the Smooth Jazz genre for quite some time now and Sophistication is an excellent illustration as to why.

Smooth Jazz music fans will recognize some of the well known contributors n the project including Jeff Lorber and Chris Botti plus a few other notables as well.

If you're a Grady Nichols fan this is a CD your collection flat cannot be without. In fact, this is one of those CDs that you don't even have to be a fan of Nichols, or even Smooth Jazz to know is good. It's just good music. Period.

While the entire CD is really very good some of my favorites are track 1, Tuesday Morning, track 4, End Of The Night, and track 9, Circle Of Friends.

I wish it weren't the case but, it's not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can't force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Borboletta. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Santana possesses the characteristic of being able to win you over with him talent alone. The kind of artist I really enjoy listening to.

Overall Borboletta is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Rock collection. Truly an outstanding Rock CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.

While the entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 3 - Life Is Anew, track 7 - Practice What You Preach, and track 12 - Borboletta.

Bona Fide "Poe House" Smooth Jazz Music CD Review

Poe House is the latest Smooth Jazz CD put out by the extremely talented group Bona Fide and they have once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I'm confident Bona Fide fans, and Smooth Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one.

This one grabs your attention right from the outset with Club Charles and won't let go until the very last note of the very last song Goose, which by the way is another great track.

One of the nicer things about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Smooth Jazz isn't your favorite style you still can't help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

I'm of the opinion that Poe House is certainly Bona Fide's best work to date. A totally enjoyable CD and an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up because it's a collection that even the casual Smooth Jazz fan can appreciate and enjoy.

While this entire album is outstanding the truly standout tunes are Club Charles [track 1], Willie Don [track 2], and The Horse You Came In On [track 9].

Review of the John Mclaughlin CD Industrial Zen

I can describe the latest release from Jazz sensation John Mclaughlin for you with just one word... Outstanding!

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it's own.

Industrial Zen has a pleasantly varied, mix of 8 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly superb artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

If you're a John Mclaughlin fan, or just a fan of Jazz music this is a CD your collection simply should not be without.

Not sure what's happening with me on this one, but it seems like the more I listen to it, the better Under The Table and Dreaming gets. Under The Table and Dreaming stated simply is one of their best CDs to date.

Under The Table and Dreaming opens with an outstanding track, The Best Of What's Around, that I suspect will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It really is a very nice track.

Under The Table and Dreaming is a pleasantly varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly talented musicians. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own real life experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

Overall Under The Table and Dreaming is excellent from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Rock fan. Really sensational from beginning to end.

Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you've got one of Andrew Hill's most impressive releases ever.

Overall Passing Ships is outstanding from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Jazz fan. Really spectacular from beginning to end.

Euge Groove is the kind of artist I really enjoy listening to.

If you're even mildly into Smooth Jazz music you'll enjoy this CD. Overall Livin' Large is an a great release. I give it my double thumbs up. You will not be disappointed with one single track.

The exceptionally talented Jazz artist Jeff Lorber has released him CD entitled Philly Style. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Jeff Lorber fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Philly Style Jeff Lorber's artistic excellence is on full display as Lorber has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

The nice thing about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Jazz isn't your favorite style you still can't help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

Philly Style is a first rate CD, delivering a little something for everyone. I give it my highest recommendation. It's quite simply great listening. A must buy if you're even mildly into Jazz music.

Peter White "Perfect Moment" Smooth Jazz Music CD Review

Perfect Moment is the latest release from Smooth Jazz Artist Peter White, and I can only think of one word to describe it... AWESOME!

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all.

Perfect Moment is a pleasantly varied, mix of 10 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly outstanding artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are his own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

The nice thing about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Smooth Jazz isn't your favorite genre you still can't help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.

If you're even mildly into Smooth Jazz music you'll enjoy this CD. Overall Perfect Moment is an outstanding release. I give it my double thumbs up. You will not be disappointed with one single track.

Very talented Jazz artist Stanley Clarke has released him latest CD titled I Wanna Play For You and Wow! It's really a good one.

I Wanna Play For You literally grabs your attention right from the beginning with I Wanna Play For You and doesn't let go until the very last note of the very last song Hot Fun-Closing, which is another great track by the way.

These days it's a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.

Listen to and I think you'll agree that the song choices are excellent, the production is outstanding and Stanley Clarke is clearly in top form.
